CHYP is a California charitable nonprofit organization founded by pediatric pain doctor, Lonnie Zeltzer, MD, in 2005. Dr. Zeltzer has been treating youth with chronic pain for over thirty years. Having seen children visit multiple doctors, undergo numerous tests, and take many medications with no end to their pain in sight, it became clear to Dr. Zeltzer that something was needed to help more children than she could possibly see in her practice. She also realized that her nonprofit would need to address common healthcare barriers like location and cost.
